South west

This website is for the 23,000 PCS members who live and work in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Bristol.

The primary function of this section of the PCS website is to give members access to information about the work of south west regional centre, south west regional committee and south west specific activities and issues.

Trades councils unite trade unionists from different backgrounds and occupations around issues which affect working people in the locality.

Aims of the south west office

 

The main aims of the office can be summarised as follows:

  • Acting as a focal point for all main PCS activity in the South West
  • Negotiating on pay and conditions of service for members in organisations whose main base is in the region
  • Assisting branches in the South West in recruitment and organising issues
  • Campaigning on national and local issues
  • Promoting workplace learning in the south west
  • Organising trade union education in the region
  • Playing a full role within the south west TUC.
