PCS Scotland

PCS Scotland is a national region within the union with six full time officers, one temporary project worker, and three support staff operating from two offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow. PCS Scotland logo

Both the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices are equipped with training and meeting facilities which can be booked for education and learning, Scottish regional, group and branch meetings.

Almost without exception every bargaining area covered by PCS Scotland is accountable to the Scottish Parliament.

The pay remits are cleared by both Departmental or Agency Ministers and ultimately by the Scottish Minister for Finance and Public Reform.

Equally the comprehensive spending review process is dealt with separately by the Finance Minister.

Other Scottish Cabinet Ministers are also directly involved in taking decisions which affect our members both directly and indirectly.

To this end we place a great deal of emphasis in raising the union's profile within the Scottish Parliament and working with MSPs.

The Scotland committee determines the strategic approach of the work of PCS Scotland.

The Scottish forum brings together all those national branches not covered by group structures and is the equivalent of the national general areas forum.

PCS Scotland builds constructive partnerships directly and through the Scottish Trades Unions Congress (STUC) with employers, ministers and political elected representatives.

This means we seek agreement on areas of shared concern: the need for investment in developing the skills of Scottish public sector workers; efficient government, fair and equal pay and a fairer distribution of good quality public sector jobs throughout Scotland.
