Five days later, Jay died in hospital, having sustained severe head injuries.

Six years on, no one has yet been tried for Jay's murder. Jay's family continue to campaign for those who killed him to be brought to justice.

Both Jay and Michael were PCS members.

January 29, 2007 marked the eigth anniversary of Jay's death. To honour him and to raise awareness of the on-going campaign to bring his killers to justice Jay's family organised a public candlelight vigil outside Brighton Police Station.
